![]() ![]() ⚠️ Before each patch, it is recommended to do a "clean start" - essentially remove all texture modpacks and re-apply them after a patch. Kind of similar to something like ElvUI for WoW, giving a cleaner finish. Gives most UI elements a material finish, removes a lot of the decorative borders, squares off the health bars, etc. This is the base/default UI modpack that I use. You may or may not have to tweak the in-game gamma a bit after choosing a preset, in the event the game feels too dark/light.Ī texture modification program adds the ability to install texture overrides (usually referred to as "modpacks"). From in-game, you use an overlay to select one of a variety of shaders to apply to the game - I currently use the "GShadeGameplayVanilla" preset. alter the color tone, add anti-aliasing, etc). It adds the ability to run extra graphical shaders on top of the game, normally with the intent to enhance the visuals (e.g. GShade is a fork of ReShade with FFXIV-specific support. The above link has traditionally been the best guide for installing ACT and setting it up for FFXIV. Advanced Combat TrackerĪCT is basically a universal program that reads game logs for addon-like functionality, for games that don't support in-game addons. There is an in-development version of ElvUI for FFXIV, called DelvUI, built on this framework. Also provides a plugin framework for loading unofficial "plugins", similar to traditional WoW "addons" - this feature is completely optional and could be bannable, as there isn't official addon support for FFXIV. ![]() An alternative launcher - faster to load, auto-login, and the ability to launch extra tools on startup (like ACT, below). ![]()
